Drawing and Talking
What is this?
Drawing and Talking is a therapeutic intervention for children and young people. It is designed as a short term, time limited, pro-active intervention intended to complement, rather than replace, the work of specialist mental health services.
This non-intrusive tool allows children and young people to process emotional pain resulting from trauma.
The child utilises drawing as a way to help them express their feelings differently from ordinary verbal language.
The Drawing and Talking therapeutic intervention allows individuals to discover and communicate emotions through a non-directed technique. This is what sets Drawing and Talking apart from existing solution-focused and cognitive-based therapies and interventions.
Who is it for?
The Drawing and Talking technique is used with anyone (age 5+) who has suffered trauma or has underlying emotional difficulties.
What is the package we are offering?
A package of weekly sessions of 30-minute 1:1 therapeutic support – this can take place at your setting or on our site.
Who will be delivering this?
This intervention will be delivered by one of our experienced creative intervention practitioners who has completed the Drawing and Talking certified course.
